Akasquy Indians: History and Encounter with La Salle

The Akasquy Indians, an otherwise unidentified group, possibly Caddoan, were visited by René Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle, in 1687, when they were living near the Palaquesson Indians on the lower Brazos River.
