Arroyo Colorado Estates: A Community Overview

Arroyo Colorado Estates is located on Farm Road 1846 about five miles east of Harlingen in central Cameron County. This residential community began in the 1980s and consists of primarily Hispanic, lower-income families. The first population figures were recorded in the 2000 census when Arroyo Colorado Estates reported 755 residents. It is part of the Rio Hondo Independent School District.
