Cherokee Hill: A Residential Community Near Tyler, Texas
Published: February 14, 2005
Cherokee Hill is a small residential development located just west of State Highway Loop 164 about six miles southwest of Tyler in western Smith County. This community south of the St. Louis and Southwestern Railway probably began by the 1980s to accommodate the families of employees of the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, a nearby plant that was constructed in the early 1960s. No population estimates were available for Cherokee Hill in 2000.
