Steven W. Hooper
Steven W. Hooper is a retired Special Agent in Charge for the United States Customs Service. He spent over thirty-one years with the agency where he was responsible for criminal investigations of federal law. After his retirement, he founded a consulting firm where he worked as a contractor for the United States Departments of Treasury, Justice, State and Homeland Security.
His interest in the history of the United States Customs Service has resulted in the publication of many articles on the history of the agency as well as many presentations before various civic and government organizations.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Police Science and Administration and a Master of Science degree in Management and Business. He is a member of the Texas State Historical Association, the Galveston Historical Foundation, the Houston Maritime Museum, the Treasury Historical Association, and the Association of Customs and HSI Special Agents (ACHSIA).
