Jasmine S. Wynton


Jasmine S. Wynton is a partner at Thompson Coburn LLP in Dallas. She represents clients in high-stakes business litigation, employment matters, and white-collar criminal defense. Her practice spans a wide range of industries and includes handling breach of contract, fraud, fiduciary duty, and tortious interference claims, as well as guiding companies through complex government investigations and federal enforcement actions brought by the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. She also advises corporate clients on state and federal False Claims Act matters.

In 2019, Wynton was seconded to the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted criminal cases as an assistant district attorney. Before entering private practice, she clerked for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas and the Supreme Court of Texas.

Wynton earned her J.D. from Duke University School of Law, where she was a Robert William and Robert Wheaton Walter Scholar and staff editor of the Duke Law Journal. She graduated summa cum laude from Spelman College with a B.A. in history and a minor in drama, serving as class salutatorian.

Her numerous honors include the 2024 Hon. Cleo R. Steele Committed Mentor Award from the J.L. Turner Legal Association, selection to Texas Rising Stars® in Business Litigation (2018–2024), Texas Lawyer’s “On the Rise” Award (2022), and D Magazine’s “Best Lawyers Under 40 in Dallas” (2022).

She is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, Dallas Bar Association Foundation, and the American Bar Association, and serves on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas Court Advisory Committee.

As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026, Texans have a unique opportunity to reflect on the state’s role in the American story. Through exhibitions, programs, educational initiatives, and community events across Texas, Texas America250 encourages celebration, reflection, and commemoration at both local and statewide levels. At the Texas State Historical Association, we are proud to support this important moment through our mission-driven work in history education and public engagement, including Texas History Day, and we invite students, educators, and communities to explore this milestone in meaningful ways.

On July 4, 2026, we will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the greatest nation in the history of the world. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Long may these ideals live in the heart of every Texan and every American. May God bless all who have defended our freedoms that we enjoy each day. And God bless the United States of America.
